How to Play Cornhole

gs2Oasis is a different kind of boutique hotel in Vegas partially because of it’s location next to Gold Spike casino. Inside the Living Room you will find a variety of games like darts, pool, foosball and the beloved cornhole. If you haven’t gotten a chance to play cornhole yet or don’t know the rules, don’t worry! It is super simple. Take a look at the rules below then challenge your friends to a game next time you stay at the cool Las Vegas hotel Oasis at Gold Spike.

The equipment used is two cornhole platforms and eight corn bags, four in one color and then four in another. The platforms should be 27 feet away from each other from the front of each platform. The front of the corn hole platform is also the foot foul line.

You can play Cornhole with either one or two-person teams. If you are playing with a two-player team, make sure that each team member takes a place on the opposite side of their partner.

The goal of the game is to toss the corn bags into the cornhole. Each bag that makes it through the hole on the toss or is knocked in later in the round is worth three points. If the corn bag lands on the platform, it is worth one point. If any part of the bag is on the ground, it is not worth anything.

In singles play, take turns tossing the corn hole bags. In doubles play, you take turns tossing bags with the challenger on the same side. At the end of each round when all eight corn bags have been tossed, add up the points for each challenger. Take turns doing this until one team wins.

The winner is the first team to reach 21 points with a two point lead. If the team is not ahead two points after scoring 21, then the game continues until someone wins by two point. For a more in depth, check out the official rules.
