Las Vegas has always been associated with entertainment, fine dining, gambling, and shopping as well as that man standing on the corner that might or might not be Elvis. Although everything looks expensive and you might be wondering where to save some dollars, here is a quick look. Although you want to ensure having enough cash on you to enjoy your visit to Las Vegas, there are several ways you can have fun and relax on the cheap and still return home with some cash in your pocket. Here ways to enjoy Downtown Las Vegas:
• Golden Nugget Spa & Salon Specials – if you’re looking for a place to get a facial and a relaxing massage, the Golden Nugget’s Spa & Salon offers some delightful services that are very affordable. Hair styling, manicures/pedicures, and waxing are available here as well.
• Have some drinks at happy hour – when it comes to happy hour in Downtown Las Vegas, no two bars and restaurants are alike. However, they do offer some really tasty meals and snacks at discounted prices during happy hour. Here are a few examples:
o Cadillac Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar – 4 pm to 7 pm, Monday through Friday
o Chart House at the Golden Nugget – 4 pm to 6 pm, Monday through Friday
o Triple 7 Restaurant & Microbrewery at Main Street Station – 3 pm to 6 pm and 11 pm to 3 am, Monday through Friday
• No resort fees to hassle with – many of the resort hotels on The Strip add resort fees to your bill. If you haven’t figured it out already, these are completely separate from the booking fee. Fortunately, there are several hotels in the downtown area that don’t add these fees when you check out to leave. This includes the California Hotel & Casino, Four Queens Hotel & Casino, Fremont Hotel & Casino, and Main Street Station Hotel & Casino. You might want to check and see if you have to book directly with the hotel to get the NO-resort-fee perk.
• Visit the Golden Nugget’s Tank Pool – if you haven’t seen this, get prepared to be amazed. The Golden Nugget is the home to a 200,000-gallon shark tanks aquarium (yes it holds real live sharks . . . plus a few other sea creatures for good measure). You can also swim alongside the sharks (obviously in a separate pool) or slide down the Tank Pool’s 30-foot-high waterslide. Or, lounge by the pool if you prefer.
